Your Marshall-Benton MSU Alumni Chapter Needs You!

Your Marshall-Benton Chapter of the Mississippi State University Alumni Association needs some “True Maroon” volunteers to help build a strong Bulldog presence in Marshall and Benton Counties.

So, what exactly is a chapter’s role with the MSU Alumni Association?
Basically, a chapter becomes "Mississippi State" in its community. The interest you stimulate, the service you provide, and the information you collect and disseminate helps the university, the community and the chapter members. Not only are you keeping your local alumni and Bulldog friends connected through communication, activities and events, you are recruiting prospective students.

The MSU Alumni Association is working to establish an organized and enthusiastic connection for our alumni, friends, and students.  If you are interested in learning how you can help spread the Maroon and White, share your ideas, learn more about the chapter, volunteer for service, or just show your support, please contact Janet Downey.

How can you help?

  • Volunteers for chapter leadership positions or specific engagement activities – president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, student recruiting chair, membership chair, social chair, and board members.
  • Possible activities for 2023 – student recruiting events, 2023 Send-off Party, regular board/volunteer meetings, community service and involvement, annual chapter meeting. The possibilities are endless.
  • Chapter Goals/Initiatives – engaging all Bulldogs, community service, recruiting students in your area, supporting scholarships to MSU.

Marshall-Benton Chapter Scholarship

Applications for scholarships are available through the student application for admission after receiving admittance to MSU.  Students who complete the scholarship information after admittance to Mississippi State will automatically be considered if the required criteria is met.

The University Scholarship Committee administers the scholarship program at Mississippi State University. Financial need may be used as consideration in selection. Any scholarships will be awarded on a year-to-year basis.

Awards will be based on funds available.  Funds will not be given directly to the recipients; rather, the university business office will credit the recipients' tuition and fees expenses each semester.
